About us

Welcome to the website of the Macquarie Ice Skating Club (MISC). Our Club is based at the Macquarie Ice Rink, inside the Macquarie Shopping Centre at North Ryde.  Our committee and members have been actively supporting the sport of figure skating for over 20 years. We currently have members who are state and national representatives, and many of our skaters compete at state, national, and international levels.

We are a friendly and inclusive club, offering support to skaters that are recreational and competitive skaters from beginners to elite levels. We welcome skaters of all ages. We foster good sportsmanship and encourage friendship amongst skaters and parents.

Mission Statement

MISC is a not-for-profit sporting club based at Macquarie Ice Rink, Sydney, NSW. We support and encourage our members throughout their involvement in the sport of figure skating. We provide competition and development opportunities for skaters in a positive environment. We value sportsmanship, fairness, and participation at all levels, and in all disciplines of figure skating.

Sponsorship & Funding

The Club endeavour to run good quality competitions, training, education and events. In order to do this, as a non-profit organisation, the club needs support from both its members and the community. This can be achieved in a number of ways;

  • Corporate advertising on this website
  • Corporate advertising of annual events or publications (such as a Calendar)
  • Individual or corporate sponsorship of skaters/teams
  • Donation of products to be used by the Club to raffle (This is particularly effective if corporate bodies wish to have their branding circulated amongst young, healthy people involved in an artistic, performance based sport.)
  • Donation of individuals time to assist with an event
  • Donation of baked goodies to sell at canteen during an event

All ideas with regards to assisting the club and its members are welcomed. Please contact the Club Sponsorship Coordinator by email at sponsorship@misc.asn.au Our busiest time of the year, where many hands always make more enjoyable work… is in both April/May for MIRA and September for Club Championships.
